Tannheim Valley

In the Tannheimer Tal, cross-country skiing hearts beat faster: A whole 140 kilometres of trails are groomed here. This is particularly impressive when you consider that the Tannheim Valley is only 16 kilometres long! Thanks to short distances and access points in all the villages in the valley, you can concentrate fully on the sport and the wintry Alpine landscape. The excellent infrastructure with ski schools, ski rentals and ski bus directly from the hotel to the cross-country ski trail entrance makes a big contribution to the perfect cross-country skiing experience.

For alpine skiers there are 6 ski areas to choose from in the Tannheimer Tal. However, if you are looking for a big skiing hype, you are wrong here: At Neunerküpfle, Füssener Jöchle, Nesselwängle and Co. it is more relaxed. The easy-to-follow ski areas are particularly suitable for families, but sporty skiers will also find some challenging runs. Ski tourers feel particularly at home in the Tannheimer Tal, as there is a wide choice of possible ascent routes and downhill runs.

For those looking for peace and relaxation, winter hiking (for example to the picturesque Vilsalpsee) or snowshoeing through the unspoilt winter landscape is the best option. Families with children should definitely not miss out on a tobogganing tour!

Only a few kilometres behind the German border stretches the Tannheimer Tal, which awaits hikers with a varied offer. According to the motto "Hiking on three levels", pleasure hikers, panorama lovers and alpinists will find their favourite tour.

The lowest level is ideal for pleasure hikers: walks from village to village, lakeside paths at Haldensee and at the wildly romantic Vilsalpsee. One level up, there are magnificent mountain trails with magnificent views.

Fascinating hiking experiences are also provided by various themed trails, such as the smuggler's trail or the "9erlebnisweg" in Tannheim with eleven information stations and the largest summit book in the Alps.

On the third level, challenging tours for experienced alpinists and exciting routes for sport climbers await.A highlight for every mountain lover is the ascent of the Leilachspitze, which is one of the highest peaks in the Tannheimer Tal. Besides the Köllenspitze and the Gehrenspitze, the north face of the Gimpel is a real challenge. The Läuferspitze is also one of the most popular destinations in alpinist circles.

The Tannheimer Tal has developed into a top destination for racing cyclists: 22 designated routes with a total of 2500 km are available. Many tempting cycling routes are easy and uncomplicated to reach from the Tyrolean high valley. In addition, an internationally renowned event takes place every year in July: the Tannheimer Tal Cycling Marathon.
