Brentenjoch
Challenging tour on the German border to the Allgäu
Route: From the car park, climb along the forest road above the valley station of the material cable car (1300 m) to the Bad Kissinger Hut in the Seebachtal valley. Follow trail no. 40 in the forest through the Seebach valley around the Scheichenkopf to the open areas of the Seebenalpe (1600 m, signpost). From the huts, climb steeply in a northerly direction on the trail through the mountain pines to the Vilser Jöchl (1718 m) and continue steeply (22, sometimes tricky slopes) next to the mountain pines to the shoulder (about 1780 m). The steep summit ascent is climbed in many serpentines over the rugged, largely blown-off south ridge to reach the summit cross (2001 m). Descent: along the ascent route.
