Here we hike in the footsteps of King Maximilian II. of Bavaria. The way leads across several summits from Breiten next to Bad Hindelang to Obergschwend.
In 1858 King Maximilian II. of Bavaria travelled through his Kingdom, for example alongside the alps from Lindau to Berchtesgaden. The tour "Maximiliansweg" reminds of that route of the king. Since 1991 the German Alpine Association makes sure that the route is in a good condition. We hike from Breiten across the Bildstöckle, the Tiefenbacher Eck and the Hirschalpe to Obergschwend. From there we take the bus back to Breiten.
