Updates COVID 19 & autumn season

The great landscape and the wonderful views invite you to experience nature, mountain landscapes and everything around it. But this of course in compliance with the provisions and orders of the federal government of Austria and the state of Tyrol. With us, every small and large, young and old visitor will find peace, relaxation and what makes a vacation - and that away from mass tourism! With the best care and our full commitment, starting with our landlords, through our restaurants and alps to our personal service.

UPDATE: When can hotels, private landlords, holiday homes and campsites reopen? (July, 01, 2020)

The general ban on accommodation for all types of accommodation will be lifted on May 19, 2021. This also applies to the Jungholz community.

When staying in Jungholz, however, as in all of Austria, some rules and measures must be observed

Upon arrival / check-in, in addition to the usual registration for the registration system and for contact tracking, you will need proof of access (tested, recovered, or vaccinated). This also applies to children from the age of 10:

Overview of the existing options (3G rule):

Negative test evidence (antigen test: 48h / PCR test: 72h from testing) Vaccination certificate from day 22 after the first vaccination, valid for 3 monthsProof of recovery not older than 6 months / antibody test not older than 3 monthsTest possibilities on site for further entries in e.g. gastronomy are described below.

For the use of the gastronomy in the hotel or breakfast in your guesthouse as well as for other services such as massages, an update of the access test is required on site every 2 days (if your stay is beyond the validity of your access certificate on arrival and no corresponding proof of vaccination or recovery present).

The FFP2 mask protects you and others in generally accessible areas (FFP2 from 14 years, normal mouth and nose protection from 6 years, children up to 6 years without a mask).

According to Austrian regulations, a minimum distance of 2 meters also applies in Jungholz, except for people from the common household.

Employees with personal contact are regularly tested for Covid-19 and wear tight-fitting mouth and nose protection, unless there is, for example, a high-quality spatial protection device at the reception.

Greetings you kindly,

The Jungholz team

UPDATE: Re-Opening of gastronomy (July, 01, 2021)

Restaurants, pubs & huts

The gastronomy and thus the restaurants, huts, alpine pastures, bars and cafes in Jungholz have been open for daytime operation both indoors and outdoors since 19 May.

The following rules apply:

  • When entering the restaurant, a test must be taken or a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a confirmation of a previous illness must be presented (3-G evidence). This is controlled by the operator.
  • All guests must register with their name and contact details when entering. Registration is mandatory for stays of 15 minutes or more
  • Self-service buffets can be operated subject to hygiene requirements.

Additional tips:

  • If possible, reserve a table in advance in the restaurant that you want to visit.
  • Pay attention to the general hygiene rules.
  • Food can still be picked up without a test.

Night bars, clubs:

  • Access to the night catering is only possible for vaccinated people and people with a current negative PCR test result.
  • A negative antigen test or evidence of recovery is not valid. There are no capacity restrictions.

Unfortunately, due to the very low numbers, the test offer can no longer be offered at the moment. There is still the possibility to be tested at the tourist information office in Tannheim, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plans are currently underway about the test options at the beginning of the winter season. We will send you information in good time. Thank you very much for your understanding. Please register in advance at to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.

UPDATE: Quarantine rules for Jungholz (May 14, 2021)

Since the community of Jungholz does not represent a risk area and is exempt from any regulations with regard to Quarantine regulations, entry and exit are possible at any time. However, it is always important to note which regulations apply when returning from Jungholz in the respective home region. In addition, the valid measures of the current Austrian Covid-19 regulation must of course also be observed in Jungholz.
