Mountaineering in Pfronten

Great mountain tour on the Aggenstein with easy climbing, best views and a waterfall path at the end.

The Aggenstein is a striking mountain right on the border between Germany and Austria. The tour from Grän leads up the beautiful rocky mountain on the south side, where there are also climbing routes. The last stretch to the summit is secured with chains like a via ferrata.

The 1,986 m high Aggenstein lies directly on the border between Germany and Austria. From the valley station of the Breitenberg cable car, you can hike along a beautiful path to the Bad Kissinger Hütte. The last stretch to the summit is a secured path.

Der nordseitige Aufstieg auf den Panoramagipfel Einstein mit südseitigem Abstieg ist überaus abwechslungsreich. Die folgende teilweise weglose Umrundung ist gerade für Kompassfreaks ein Highlight.

To the west of Pfronten, the 1536 m high Kienberg mountain stretches between the Achtal valley and the Vilstal valley.

Ein kecker Felsgipfel hier, ein breiter Bergrücken dort ... schon, wenn man sich die Topografien der ungleichen Nachbarn vergegenwärtigt, wird klar, dass die Kombination derselben eine extrem abwechslungsreiche Bergtour ergibt.

On our tour we experience lonely forest stretches, picturesque mountain lakes and fantastic views of the Allgäu mountains. Between the Salober-Alm and the Falkenstein we cross the border to Tyrol several times.

Grundsätzlich ist diese Wanderung einfach, an einigen Stellen können allerdings Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit nicht schaden. Die weglosen Etappen erfordern gutes Orientierungsvermögen sowie Trittsicherheit und Schwindelfreiheit.
